Coherence and Cohesion (Mức độ lưu loát và mạch lạc)

- Sử dụng từ nối hiệu quả: Các linking words như however, in contrast, in addition giúp kết nối câu nói một cách mạch lạc, tránh cảm giác rời rạc.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy (Phạm vi ngữ pháp và độ chính xác)
Đối với band 8.0 IELTS Speaking, thí sinh cần thể hiện khả năng sử dụng ngữ pháp linh hoạt và chính xác. Tiêu chí này đánh giá phạm vi cấu trúc câu bạn sử dụng (Grammatical Range) và mức độ chính xác khi áp dụng chúng (Accuracy).

Bí quyết đạt điểm cao trong tiêu chí Grammatical Range and Accuracy
- Sử dụng đa dạng cấu trúc câu: Nên kết hợp linh hoạt câu đơn, câu ghép, câu phức, ví dụ, thay vì nói “I like traveling because it’s fun”, bạn có thể nói “One of the reasons I’m passionate about traveling is that it allows me to immerse myself in different cultures.”

- Câu hỏi: What do you like to do in your free time?
- Trả lời: Well, I have to say that it really depends on my mood. If I’m in the mood for something relaxing, I’ll just grab a book and immerse myself in it. But on days when I feel more energetic, I prefer to go for a run or meet up with friends for a coffee.
Sử dụng cách nói gián tiếp (Indirect Style)
- Câu hỏi: Do you enjoy eating out?
- Trả lời: I’d say it depends. If I find a restaurant with great reviews and a cozy atmosphere, then I’m all for it. But if the place is too crowded or overpriced, I’d rather cook at home and enjoy a homemade meal.
Tránh lặp từ, sử dụng cách diễn đạt phong phú
- Câu hỏi: Do you like traveling?
- Trả lời: I’m a huge fan of traveling, particularly exploring coastal cities and mountainous regions. There’s just something so refreshing about being surrounded by nature. Plus, I love experiencing new cultures and trying out local cuisine wherever I go.
Diễn đạt ý theo mức độ cung bậc (Speaking in Degrees)
- Câu hỏi: Do you like coffee?
- Trả lời: To some extent, I enjoy coffee, but I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to it. I like having a cup now and then, but I can go without it if needed.
- Part 1 – Introduction & Interview
Ở phần này, giám khảo thường đặt những câu hỏi quen thuộc về bản thân, sở thích hoặc thói quen hàng ngày. Thí sinh nên trả lời ngắn gọn, đúng trọng tâm nhưng vẫn tự nhiên, đồng thời cần tránh trả lời quá cụt hoặc chỉ lặp lại từ vựng mà không có sự mở rộng hợp lý.
Ví dụ: Do you like watching movies?
Trả lời: Yes, I really enjoy watching movies, especially psychological thrillers. They keep me engaged and make me think deeply about the plot. I usually watch movies on weekends as a way to relax after a long week at work.
- Part 2 – Individual Long Turn
Ví dụ: Describe a memorable event in your life.
Trả lời: One of the most memorable events in my life was my high school graduation. It was a special day because my parents were extremely proud of me. Even now, whenever I look at my graduation photos, I still feel a sense of achievement. It was a turning point that led me to where I am today. In the future, I hope to experience another significant milestone—perhaps completing my master’s degree and celebrating another important achievement in my academic journey.
- Part 3 – Two-way Discussion
Ví dụ: Do you think technology has improved communication?
Trả lời: Absolutely, technology has revolutionized the way we communicate. In the past, people relied on letters or landline phones, which took a long time to deliver messages. Nowadays, with the rise of social media and instant messaging apps, communication is almost instantaneous. However, some argue that it has also made face-to-face interactions less frequent, which might negatively impact social skills.
Nếu gặp câu hỏi khó hiểu, thí sinh có thể phản hồi như sau: “I’m not entirely sure I understand the question. Could you rephrase it, please?”
Who – What – Where – When – Why – How).
- Sử dụng từ nối (discourse markers) một cách tự nhiên để tạo sự liên kết mạch lạc (ví dụ: To be honest, I would say that…, On top of that, I reckon…, In contrast, some people might argue that…)

Chủ đề Health
Bài Mẫu Chi Tiết IELTS Speaking Part 1 2 3 Topic Health
Part 1
- Is it important to you to eat healthy food?
Yes, eating nourishing food plays a vital role in my life as it helps me lead a healthy life and keep fit. That’s why I enjoy eating home-cooked food rather than fast food or pre-prepared meals.
- If you catch a cold, what do you do to help you feel better?
I would try several remedies. I usually take paracetamol tablets and try to drink as much water as possible. From time to time, I just have some chicken soup and take a rest, and then it feels much better.
- Do you do any exercise? How long?
Yes, though I’m up to my ears inwork, I try to take regular exercise, at least 15 minutes every day so that I can get into shape. From time to time, when I have more spare time, I hit the gym to do yoga with a personal trainer.
- Is it easy in your hometown to find places to exercise?
Yes, it’s not really difficult to find places to take regular exercise in my hometown. Most of my hometown streets are pedestrianized, so you can easily go walking or running. In addition to that, there are several badminton courts built last year for those who wanna play badminton on a daily basis.
- Do you pay attention to public information about health?
Yes, I usually pay much attention to public health information. By keeping abreast of health news, I can get some tips and new ideas for local treatments which is more affordable than going for a medical check-up. Also, this is a good way to get advice about our lifestyle and the changes needed to enjoy a disease-free life.
- In what ways do you try to stay healthy?
Well, in order to lead a healthy life, I try to take regular exercise, about 15 minutes every day. Besides, I maintain a balanced diet and have medical check-ups on a regular basis. So, I’m always as fit as a fiddle.
- What are the health benefits of playing a sport?
I think playing a sport helps enhance our physical strength as well as improve our mental health. When we play sports, we are giving your body precious time to burn fat and to build muscles. So, we will be physically fitter. Besides, it’s a great time for us to unwind after a busy day.
Part 2: Describe an activity you do for your health or fitness
I’m gonna talk about swimming which I took up when I was around 16.
Basically, swimming is just the combination of your leg and arm motions and the natural floatationof the body. To make gradual progress, you need to take regular exercise and practice with a personal trainer on a regular basis. And remember to wear some special swimming costumes such as a swim cap or glasses to protect your hair and eyes from chemicals in a pool.
As I’m aware of the importance of leading a healthy life and staying active, I try to do some swimming on a weekly basis, usually on the weekend or whenever I’m in a gloomy mood. I usually go to a sports centre near my house to go swimming. And this centre is also an ideal place for me to meet up with some of my like-minded friends. We usually have a chit-chat after swimming, which is really a blast.
Swimming has become an integralpart of my life since I was at high school because of its great benefits. The first thing is that it helps me get into shape and build endurance because it provides an all-over body workout. You know, all of my muscles are used during swimming. Besides, whenever I’m deep into water, I feel refreshed. I mean all daily stress and hardness are set aside. So, swimming kinda does not only help me enhance my physical strength, but it also improves my mental health.
Part 3
- Do you think most people worry more about their health as they get older?
Obviously yes. When people go grey, they get signs of bad health. This is explained by the fact that their immune system will weaken as getting old. So, old people can feel poorly easily. That’s why they pay more attention to their health. And we can see the fact that there are a lot of old people rather than the young going out for walks or jogging.
- What are the most popular ways of keeping healthy in your country?
I think the ways people in my country stay healthy are usually divided into different age groups. For young people, they often hit the gym or play sports in sports centres so that they can be inspired or forced to take regular exercise by a personal trainer. The elderly, on the other hand, usually go out for walking or jogging in parks near their house. This is also an ideal place for old people to meet up with their like-minded friends.
- Why do you think some people continue bad habits when they know that they are damaging to their health?
I think mainly because they have become their habits, and you know, habits die hard. Another reason may be because they’re so up to their ears in work or study that they don’t find any leisure time to replace those bad habits with good ones. For example, instead of spending much time preparing a nourishing meal at home, many people opt to eat fast food to savea great deal of time.
- Do women pay more attention to their health than men?
I believe so. Because whenever I feel poorly, I will go for a medical check-up so that I can ensure my health status. It’s the same with my mother and my sister. But I see men don’t pay much attention to their health. They always think they’re as fit as fiddle and rarely visit the hospital until they’re at death’s door. I don’t know the reason why there is such a difference between two sexes.
- Could governments do more to promote healthier lifestyle options?
Yes, there are a ton of things that governments can do to encourage a healthy lifestyle for citizens. Firstly, they can make fast food unaffordable for people by raising taxes on this kind of food. So, more people would choose healthy home-cooked food instead of junk food as their daily meals. Secondly, governments should invest more in public exercise equipment like more pedestrianized areas or the constructions of sports centres. Last but not least, they should come up with solutions to reduce the working hours of people so that they can find more time to take regular exercise and relieve daily stress.
- Would you say modern science and technology has more of a positive or a negative influence on people’s health?
I would say its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages. Thanks to the invention of X-ray machines and advances in surgical practices, our health has been much improved, and life expectancy has been lengthened. In addition to that, state-of-the-art technology gives more remedies to cure some diseases. It also helps make operations better and more successful.
Chủ đề Environment & Pollution
Bài Mẫu Chi tiết IELTS Speaking Part 1 2 3 Topic Environment
Part 1:
- Are there any environmental problems in your country?
Yes, like other nations, my country is experiencing several issues in terms of the environment. The most serious problem might be poor air quality. If you have to commute in the early morning, you would face smog, which makes it difficult to see. And this polluted air is really harmful to our health. Besides, climate change is also another environmental issue.
- Do you take an interest in nature?
Yes, I’m a nature lover. Though I’m up to my ears inwork, I usually spend the weekend getting back to nature in order to recharge my batteries after a busy week.
- Do you or your family take steps to help the environment?
Yes, my parents are aware of the importance of environment protection, they always try to buy environmentally-friendly products instead of disposable ones. Besides, they usually commute by bike or walking as much as they can.
- Have you ever participated in any environmental events?
Yes, I took part in Earth Hour last year, which is a worldwide event held every year to raise people’s awareness about the importance of taking action to deal with climate change.
Part 2: Describe an environmental problem that has occurred in your country
I’m gonna talk about air pollution, which is one of the most severe environmental problems in my city.
This issue is caused by several reasons. Firstly, due to modernization, private vehicles become more affordable for people from all walks of life. This leads to the fact that there are more and more cars, trucks and motorbikes instead of bicycles commuting on roads. As a result, the amount of exhaust emissions stemming from these modes of transport increases, and therefore the atmosphere is contaminated. Secondly, more factories and power plants built also contribute to air pollution.
As regards actions taken to solve this problem, people should use environmentally-friendly transportations like bicycles or buses instead of their private vehicles like cars or motorbikes. Another action might be that it’s the government’s responsibility to plant more trees in the city and encourage their citizens to plant trees at home.
Of course, it’s vital for us to come up with other solutions to mitigate this issue as soon as we can because of its clear detriments. You know, breathing in such severely polluted air can be very harmful to our health. To be more specific, long-term exposure to air pollution might lead to several diseases associated with heart, lungs, cancers and other health problems. In addition to that, the severity of polluted air causes the high frequency of smog in the morning, which makes commuters difficult to see. As a result, there might be more traffic accidents occurring in my city. That’s why it’s important for us to control air pollution.
Part 3
- In which way do people damage our planet?
Human beings have triggered a number of environmental problems during the last several decades. By dumping waste indiscriminately, they cause water pollution that occurs in many places. In addition to that, the construction of numerous factories and the intensity of vehicles contaminate air, which leads to air pollution. Also, humans damage our planet through their small habits. For example, people nowadays usually use disposable items like disposable plastic containers or spoons instead of recycled ones, which adversely affects the environment.
- What do you think is the main danger the world faces in terms of the environment?
Well I suppose climate change would be the most severe environmental problem that humanity is facing. We’re experiencing long summer heatwaves that lead to prolonged droughts every summer. In addition to that, unstable climate causes rising sea levels, and therefore flash floods occur more frequently. These consequences inflict enormous damage to people and property.
- Do you think that the environmental situation will improve in the nearest future?
Yes, I would like to believe so. Since people are more and more aware of serious environmental problems, they come up with solutions to improve the situation. As you can see, an increasing number of people travel by bike or bus instead of their own cars or motorbikes on a daily basis. In addition to that, more businesses pay attention to environmentally-friendly items. For example, they choose to use paper bags to replace plastic ones in the past.
- Do you think it is the responsibility of governments alone to protect the environment?
No, I think governments and individuals take the shared responsibility for environment protection. For governments, they can invest more in research into renewable energy sources and enact laws in terms of eco-friendly projects. For individuals, we should be held responsible for protecting the environment in various ways. They should use energy-efficient products such as commuting daily by bike instead of motorbike. Besides, they can plant more trees in their houses and don’t dump waste indiscriminately.
Chủ đề Event
Part 1
- Do you like attending events?
Absolutely! I love attending events, especially cultural festivals and live concerts. They offer a great opportunity to experience new things, socialize with different people, and simply have fun.
- What types of events do people in your country enjoy?
Well, in my country, people enjoy a variety of events, but the most popular ones are weddings, music festivals, and traditional celebrations like the Lunar New Year. These events bring families and communities together and are always filled with
- How often do you attend events?
It really depends. If I have free time, I try to attend at least one event per month, whether it’s a concert, an art exhibition, or a seminar. But if I’m too busy with work or studies, I might go months without attending any.
- Have you ever helped organize an event?
Yes! Last year, I helped organize a charity event at my university. It was a lot of work, from planning the activities to managing the logistics, but it was also incredibly rewarding to see people come together for a good cause.
Part 2: Describe a memorable event you attended
I’d like to talk about my best friend’s wedding, which took place last summer. It was one of the most unforgettable events I’ve ever attended. The wedding was held in a beautiful garden by the lake, with a breathtaking view of the sunset. Everything was meticulously planned, from the elegant decorations to the lively music that kept everyone entertained.
One of the highlights of the event was the heartfelt speech given by the groom. His words were so touching that many guests, including myself, were moved to tears. The atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, and joy, making it a truly magical experience.
Another thing that made the event special was the food. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes, from local delicacies to international cuisine, and everything was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed the dance floor, where everyone, young and old, joined in the celebration.
Overall, it was an amazing event that I’ll always cherish. It reminded me of how beautiful it is to witness two people in love starting a new journey together.
Part 3
- Why do people like attending events?
I think people enjoy events because they provide a break from daily routines and create opportunities to socialize. Attending an event allows people to celebrate special moments, learn new things, or simply have fun. For example, corporate events help professionals expand their networks, while cultural festivals give people insights into different traditions.
- How have events changed over time?
Events have evolved significantly over the years. In the past, they were mostly held in physical venues with a limited number of attendees. However, with technological advancements, many events are now hybrid or fully virtual, allowing people from different parts of the world to join. Additionally, modern events often incorporate interactive elements, such as live polls and Q&A sessions, to keep audiences engaged.
- What makes an event successful?
A successful event depends on several factors, such as good organization, engaging content, and a lively atmosphere. The event should also be well-targeted to the right audience. For example, a business seminar should provide valuable insights and networking opportunities, while a music festival should have great performances and a vibrant crowd.
- Do you think people will attend more or fewer events in the future?
I believe people will continue to attend events, but the way they participate might change. With the rise of online events, people might prefer virtual experiences for convenience. However, for social and cultural events, in-person participation will always be important because nothing can replace the feeling of being physically present and interacting with others.
Chủ đề Education
Part 1
- How old were you when you started school?
I began my formal education when I turned six. I went to a small local elementary school and that was my only choice back then as the school was the only option in the region.
- Tell me something about your old school.
Well, I received my schoolingin a primary/ secondary/ high school in the proximity of my house. It’s the only school in the region, providing us with both an excellent learning environment and high-quality education.
- Do you ever need that subject now?
Yes, I do. I’m not into this subject, but the importance of maths is undisputed. We all need a basic grounding in maths so that we can utilise it to finish daily tasks such as working out bills or managing money.
- Which subject did you find the most interesting?
For the most part, I’d say it’s Biology. I love the field trips incorporated into the subject in which we had opportunities to explore wildlife. This subject really aroused our love for the environment.
Part 2: Describe a school you went to in your childhood
When I read the cue card, the first thing springing to mind was Bao Phuc secondary school to which I went in former days. To the best of my recollection, it was situated right in the middle of my village, and was in the proximity of my house. So it only took 10 minutes for me to get to school on foot.
The school dates back to the late 70s and my parents actually used to be the students there. Back in the days when I was studying at elementary school, I had always dreamt of gaining admission to Bao Phuc secondary school because of the excellent reputation for its high-quality education. Fortunately, I did it.
The school’s signature colour is yellow, which really made it stand out from its surroundings. The facilities are top-notch. It’s one of the first schools in the region to install an air-conditioning system and modern overhead projectors. The teachers are all knowledgeable and supportive. Therefore, it’s no wonder that admission remains extremely competitive.
I still vividly remember my homeroom teacher – Ms. Loan and my two best friends there – Trang and Phượng. At that time, I was painfully shy and reserved and it was they who integrated me into the class, making me part of it. Now we still keep in touch with one another. On the annual National Teachers’ Day, we gather together in the school and revive the memories of the good old days.
Part 3:
- What makes a good student?
I believe the first character trait of a good student is hard work and dogged perseverance. Learning is not as easy as some may think and the student has to be resilient to pursue knowledge. On top of that, a good student is a good listener – a person who is willing to listen openly and actively, accept his mistakes and learn from others.
- Do you think the traditional classroom will disappear in the future?
Well, it might become less common but it’s impossible that the conventional classroom will come to an end years down the road. Modern technologies will help students study independently instead of just sitting in a classroom. Maybe students will go to school just once or twice a week, and spend the rest of their time on online courses.
- Is a good education more important to a boy or a girl? Why?
I believe gender has nothing to do with it. All boys and girls have an equal right to be well educated. In fact, so many women with first-class education are in senior positions in every field like politics or medicine. So there is no reason to differentiate between males and females when it comes to education.
Chủ đề Travel
Part 1:
- Do you like traveling?
Absolutely! Traveling allows me to explore new places, experience different cultures, and meet interesting people. It’s always exciting to step out of my comfort zone and discover something new.
- How often do you travel?
It depends on my schedule, but I try to travel at least twice a year. If I have a long holiday, I prefer visiting another country, but for shorter breaks, I usually go on weekend trips to nearby destinations.
- What kind of places do you like to visit?
I enjoy visiting both natural landscapes and vibrant cities. Sometimes, I love escaping to the mountains or the beach to relax, but I also find exploring bustling cities full of history and culture fascinating.
- Do you prefer traveling alone or with others?
I think both have their own charm. Traveling alone gives me more freedom to do whatever I want, but traveling with friends or family is great because I get to share the experience with them.
Part 2: Describe a trip you took that was particularly memorable.
One of the most unforgettable trips I’ve ever taken was my visit to Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam. I went there with my best friends last summer, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish.
We spent most of our time exploring the breathtaking beaches, enjoying the fresh seafood, and visiting famous landmarks like the Golden Bridge and Marble Mountains. One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to Ba Na Hills, where we took a cable car ride up the mountains. The view was absolutely stunning, and the air was so fresh.
Another thing that made this trip special was the local food. We tried so many delicious dishes, from Mi Quang to fresh seafood hotpot. Every meal was a feast, and I still crave those flavors today.
What I loved most about this trip was the time I spent with my friends. We laughed, took tons of pictures, and created so many unforgettable memories together. It was the perfect getaway, and I can’t wait to visit Da Nang again!
