Từ vựng và ý tưởng IELTS Speaking theo chủ đề – Transportation

Giao thông/ Đi lại – Transportation là một chủ đề vô cùng phổ biến trong các kỳ thi IELTS nói chung và IELTS Speaking nói riêng. Xoay quanh chủ đề này, giám khảo cũng có muôn vàn cách đặt câu hỏi. Vì vậy, cách luyện tập tốt nhất cho một chủ đề nói chung đó là chuẩn bị một số ý tưởng xoay quanh các sub-topics (chủ đề nhỏ) và sau đó mình có thể “thiên biến vạn hoá” khi đối mặt với nhiều câu hỏi khác nhau. Ví dụ, với chủ đề này, chúng ta sẽ có những sub-topics như là:

• Means of transport
• Frequency of using public transport
• Public transport and private transport
• Ways to improve transport systems

Trong bài viết này, IELTS Thanh Loan xin gợi ý với bạn những ý tưởng thông dụng nhất về 2 vấn đề, đó là: “means of transport” và “frequency of using public transport“.

1. Means of transport

Well, I mostly travel on my own motorbike. You know, it’s easier to get around the city centre especially in the rush hour by riding a motorbike. Furthermore,  this vehicle saves more gasoline as compared with a car. Also,  I can cruise at any speed I want. Sometimes, when I wanna do a bit of sightseeing, the motorbike just slows down a bit.

À, tôi chủ yếu di chuyển bằng xe máy của riêng mình. Bạn biết đấy, đi xe máy sẽ dễ dàng hơn để đi quanh trung tâm thành phố, đặc biệt là vào giờ cao điểm. Hơn nữa, loại xe này tiết kiệm xăng hơn so với ô tô. Ngoài ra, tôi có thể đi ở bất kỳ tốc độ nào tôi muốn. Đôi khi, khi tôi muốn ngắm cảnh một chút, tôi chỉ cần điều khiển chiếc xe máy chạy chậm lại một chút.

I drive in my own car every day. Though it’s considered as a gas guzzler which detrimentally affects the environment, I opt for this vehicle as it’s faster than any other one. I mean I can save a great deal of time.

Tôi lái xe ô tô của riêng mình mỗi ngày. Mặc dù nó khá ăn xăng gây ảnh hưởng xấu đến môi trường, nhưng tôi chọn phương tiện này vì nó nhanh hơn bất kỳ phương tiện nào khác. Tôi có nghĩa là tôi có thể tiết kiệm rất nhiều thời gian.

Well, I take a bus to go to school on a daily basis. You know, the air is getting more and more heavily polluted by exhaust fumes, so using public transport on a daily commute offers a small contribution to dealing with air pollution. Besides, the bus is the most relatively affordable means of transport, so it kinda helps me save a lot of money.

À, tôi đi xe buýt để đi học hàng ngày. Bạn biết đấy, không khí ngày càng ô nhiễm nặng nề bởi khói thải, vì vậy việc sử dụng các phương tiện công cộng trên đường đi làm hàng ngày sẽ góp phần nhỏ vào việc giải quyết ô nhiễm không khí. Bên cạnh đó, đi xe buýt cũng tương đối rẻ nên nó giúp tôi tiết kiệm được rất nhiều tiền.

2. Frequency of using public transport

Well, I travel by bus almost every day. You know, as it’s the cheapest way to get around, it seems to be the most suitable means of transport for a dirt-poor person like me. Besides, I would say that it’s the vehicle that I can just sit and admire the view.

À, tôi đi xe buýt hầu như mỗi ngày. Bạn biết đấy, vì đó là cách rẻ nhất để đi lại, nó có vẻ là phương tiện đi lại phù hợp nhất cho một người nghèo khó như tôi. Bên cạnh đó, tôi muốn nói rằng đó là phương tiện mà tôi có thể vừa ngồi vừa ngắm cảnh.

To be quite honest, I take a bus from time to time, and it depends mostly on the weather. If the weather is fine, I prefer to travel on my own motorbike to the bus because of its mobility and convenience. But if it’s pouring with rain, I would definitely choose to travel by bus because I don’t wanna put a raincoat on. Besides, it’s too dangerous for me to get around when the road is wet and slippery.

Thành thật mà nói, tôi thỉnh thoảng mới đi xe buýt, và nó phụ thuộc chủ yếu vào thời tiết. Nếu thời tiết đẹp, tôi thích tự di chuyển bằng xe máy hơn xe buýt vì tính cơ động và tiện lợi. Nhưng nếu trời đổ mưa, tôi chắc chắn sẽ chọn di chuyển bằng xe buýt vì tôi không muốn mặc áo mưa. Ngoài ra, việc đi lại khi đường ướt và trơn trượt quá nguy hiểm đối với tôi.

Honestly speaking, I rarely travel by bus because it’s always jam-packed. Moreover, it’s not particularly punctual, so I can always be late for work if I commute by bus. On top of that, whenever I hop on a bus, I feel uncomfortable, and the smell of a bus always makes me want to vomit.

Thành thật mà nói, tôi hiếm khi di chuyển bằng xe buýt vì nó luôn chật cứng. Hơn nữa, xe buýt đặc biệt không đúng giờ, vì vậy tôi luôn có thể đi làm muộn nếu đi làm bằng xe buýt. Hơn hết, mỗi khi bước lên xe buýt, tôi cảm thấy khó chịu, mùi xe buýt luôn khiến tôi muốn nôn.
