Từ vựng và ý tưởng IELTS Speaking theo chủ đề – House/ Accommodation

Bên cạnh những chủ đề về quê hương, khu phố,… thì Nhà cửa/ Nơi ở – House/ Accommodation cũng là một chủ đề có tần suất xuất hiện tương đối cao trong IELTS Speaking. Với một chủ đề chung chung như vậy, giám khảo có thể đặt hàng loạt câu hỏi khác nhau; vì vậy, việc chuẩn bị câu trả lời cho từng câu hỏi dường như là không thể.

Nhưng bạn có phát hiện rằng một cách chuẩn bị rất hay ho cho Speaking đó là chuẩn bị một số ý tưởng xoay quanh các sub-topics (chủ đề nhỏ) và sau đó mình có thể “thiên biến vạn hoá” khi đối mặt với nhiều câu hỏi khác nhau. Ví dụ với chủ đề này, chúng ta sẽ có những sub-topics như là:

• Where you live
• Who you live with
• What you like and dislike about your accommodation
• Your ideal house
• Current trends in choosing where to live

Trong bài viết này, IELTS Thanh Loan xin gợi ý với bạn những ý tưởng thông dụng nhất về 2 vấn đề, đó là: “where you live” và “your ideal house“.

1. Where you live

For the better part of the last 4 years, I’ve been living in a mini flat in a small side street in the heart of the city. All amenities are available in the proximity of my home, like supermarkets, restaurants, fashion stores, cinemas, or hospitals. I can easily grab anything I need in just a few minutes.

Trong 4 năm qua, tôi sống trong một căn hộ nhỏ ở một con phố nhỏ ở trung tâm thành phố. Tất cả các tiện ích đều có ở gần nhà tôi như siêu thị, nhà hàng, cửa hàng thời trang, rạp chiếu phim hay bệnh viện. Tôi có thể dễ dàng có được bất cứ thứ gì tôi cần chỉ trong vài phút.

Well, I live in a detached house on the outskirts of Hanoi. I’ve been living there since I was born and I’ve grown so attached to this place.

À, tôi sống trong một ngôi nhà biệt lập ở ngoại thành Hà Nội. Tôi đã sống ở đó kể từ khi tôi được sinh ra và tôi rất gắn bó với nơi này.

Well, the flat is not really roomy, but it’s just right for us. It is styled in a minimalist way. All the walls are painted plain white. All the rooms have big windows with bright curtains adding a decorative touch to them. The interior design is simple, yet convenient.

Căn hộ không thực sự rộng rãi, nhưng nó phù hợp với chúng tôi. Nó được thiết kế theo lối tối giản. Tất cả các bức tường được sơn màu trắng trơn. Tất cả các phòng đều có cửa sổ lớn với rèm sáng màu tạo thêm nét trang trí cho chúng. Nội thất được thiết kế đơn giản nhưng tiện lợi.

I live in a two-storey house with an amazing rooftop as its main feature. My home has three bedrooms; one spacious living room and a beautiful kitchen. All the rooms are comfortably furnished.

Tôi sống trong một ngôi nhà hai tầng với tầng thượng tuyệt vời là điểm nhấn chính. Nhà tôi có ba phòng ngủ; một phòng khách rộng rãi và một nhà bếp rất xinh. Tất cả các phòng đều được trang bị tiện nghi.

• for the better part of something (time) (prepositional phrase): phần lớn (thời gian)
  ENG: for most of something (time)
• side street (noun phrase): ngõ (dẫn ra các con phố chính)
  ENG: a less important street leading off a road in a town
• amenity (noun): tiện nghi
  ENG: a feature or service that makes a place pleasant, comfortable or easy to live in
• in the proximity of something (prepositional phrase): ở gần
  ENG: near something in distance or time
• detached house (noun phrase): nhà đơn lập, nhà riêng lẻ
  ENG: a house that is not joined to another house on either side
• on the outskirts of something (prepositional phrase): ở ngoại ô, ở ngoài rìa
  ENG: in the parts of a town or city that are furthest from the centre
• grow attached to something (verb phrase): gắn bó, yêu mến
  ENG: become liking somebody/something very much
• roomy ~ spacious (adj): rộng rãi, thoáng
  ENG: having a lot of space inside
• style something (verb): thiết kế
  ENG: to design, make or shape something in a particular way
• minimalist (adj): tối giản
  ENG: (of art, music or design) using very simple ideas or a very small number of simple elements
• touch (noun): điểm nhấn
  ENG: a small detail that is added to something in order to improve it or make it complete
• comfortably furnish something (verb phrase): sắp xếp nội thất
  ENG: to put furniture in a house, room, etc. comfortably

2. Your ideal house

In fact, I’ve been dreaming of purchasing a townhouse in the city. I know that the price of it is not inexpensive and I always try to stay motivated and work hard for my dream. I used to go to a townhouse complex in Hanoi and was instantly impressed by the elegant designs and fresh air there.

Thực tế, tôi đã luôn mơ mua một căn nhà phố trong thành phố. Tôi biết rằng cái giá của nó không hề rẻ và tôi luôn cố gắng duy trì động lực và làm việc chăm chỉ cho ước mơ của mình. Tôi đã từng đến một khu nhà phố ở Hà Nội và ngay lập tức bị ấn tượng bởi những thiết kế trang nhã và không khí trong lành ở đó.

I love the idea of constructing a two-storey house in the countryside which would be cosy enough for a small family. Leading a minimalist lifestyle,  I want the house to be painted plain white and the interior design to be as simple as possible.

Tôi thích ý tưởng xây một ngôi nhà hai tầng ở nông thôn đủ ấm cúng cho một gia đình nhỏ. Theo phong cách sống tối giản, tôi muốn ngôi nhà được sơn màu trắng trơn và thiết kế nội thất càng đơn giản càng tốt.

When it comes to a place to settle in, what I attach great importance to is tranquility. That’s why my dream house should be located in a peaceful country setting far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It should have a garden so that I can do the gardening in my me-time.

Khi nói đến một nơi để an cư, điều tôi rất chú trọng là sự yên tĩnh. Đó là lý do tại sao ngôi nhà mơ ước của tôi nên nằm ở một vùng quê yên bình, cách xa sự hối hả và nhộn nhịp của thành phố. Nó phải có một khu vườn để tôi có thể làm vườn trong thời gian rảnh rỗi của mình.
