1. Describe what you think is a healthy diet

From my perspective, a healthy diet needs to provide people with a sufficient amount of proteins, carbohydrates, unsaturated fats, fibers and vitamins. And also, those who follow a healthy diet should eat more in the morning than in lunch and at night because breakfast is the most essential meal during one day.

2. Are there many vegetarians in Vietnam?

I don’t know the exact number so it’s pretty hard to answer this question but I guess there’re more and more Vietnamese vegetarians these days. In modern society, when numerous kinds of diseases emerge, people have a vegetarian diet to protect themselves from suffering from obesity, diabetes, or other fatal diseases.

3. Why do you think some people choose to be vegetarians?

Well, there are two main reasons for being vegetarians. One of them may be that some people acknowledge the importance of eating a lot of vegetables and fruits, which provide people with all nutrients and vitamins to keep them active.  Also, becoming a vegetarian is one way to prevent the brutal treatment of animals and promote a more humane way of eating.

4. Is the food that people eat today in Vietnam different from the food that people used to eat in the past? (if yes, in what ways has it changed?)

Throughout the centuries, Vietnamese people have maintained their traditional foods, such as Chung cake, spring rolls, noodles, and so on. But in the globalization era, many kinds of exotic dishes have been introduced to Vietnamese cuisine, and also with the development of technology like microwaves, electronic grills, the food we eat today can be more hygienically cooked and the taste may have changed a little bit.

5. How do you think the way we eat will change in the future?

In my opinion, I think more and more people will have a vegetarian diet because of the reasons I’ve just mentioned previously. Another thing is that people may utilize modern technological appliances more in the kitchen to help them save a great deal of time and energy. Last but not least, eating out may also become a more popular option, especially for those who are really busy because of the rising living standard.
